Again how usefull will this "haplotype" you have phased be when all the 21 single markers are independent? There is no way you will be able to find an exact match with some unrelated individual, or as in Omnipop 1 to a billion, and if you got this "haplotype" match I am quite sure you would likely not find this individual to be identical by descent but by state.

Sometime ago I googled Puerto Ricans and Springfield and found photos of people that live there. Most look mostly European but have that certain something in their look that is like mine, and I could easily blend in with them. And tonight I caught a little of the tv series "We Will Remain" and it talked about King Philip's War (I don't remember ever hearing about him or that war before). At the end of the war the surviving Indians that were captured were sold into slavery and sent to the West Indies and Europe (that part I heard about sometime after getting my admixture results). Maybe the Puerto Ricans of Springfield, Massachussets are descendants of the Indians that were originally from Massachussets or New England? Maybe my match to the P.R. of Mass. is an indirect match to Algonquian?

My 17% Amerindian would displace either the NW European or the Slavic. If it displaces the Slavic then my real paternal grandfather was someone else. If it displaces the NW European, then it is from my paternal grandmother.

I just got my newest DNA Tribes update analysis.
I already edited my signature to reflect it.
I'll copy and paste it here.
Elizabeth
MTDNA: H1 16519C. From Colonial Virginia.
2006 AncestryByDna 2.5: 83% European & 17% Native American.
Europa: Portuguese (0.35) 78.35, Norse (0.32) 44.84, Celtic (0.25) 42.03
Part B: Syria (0.60) 184.97, Morocco (0.38) 146.23, Portugal (0.35) 109.21
Part C: Sergipe, Brazil (0.41) 217.78, Puerto Rican (Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) (0.53) 216.25, Syria (0.60) 184.97
Part D: North African (0.32) 64.10, Mediterranean (0.31) 48.05, Northwest European (0.29) 39.13
My Native American panel doesn't have any matches this time again. The top of the list is Athabaskan (Alaska) (0.01) 0.01. All the rest are 0.00.
In the Europa, Celtic bumped out Spanish (finally!) for third place. I think my Celtic should be in first place. The majority of my ancestry is British Isles. Except for the unknown 17% Native American detected by DNA Print in the summer of 2006.
Instead of picking up Qatar and Libya as I feared (a long time ago I matched Southern Tunisia) , my top 20 global picked up the new Brazilian category of Northern Rio, and the Central Portugal (and Azores). My top 20 global has 12 Brazil, 1 Puerto Rican, 1 Azores, 1 Caucasian, 1 Northeast Spain, 2 Portugal, 1 Morocco, and 1 Syria.
Sergipe, Brazil is now my top global match. I pronounce it "Sir Gippy" lol. I don't know if that is right.
The world regions are the same twelve as last time, with the same top three in the same order. Fourth is Aegean. Fifth is Levantine. Mestizo is sixth of the twelve and is at (0.45) 28.41.
My new Part B is:
Syria
Morocco
Portugal
Central Portugal
Northeast Spain
Flemish
Central Portugal (again)
Switzerland
Portugal (again)
Andalusia, Spain
Flemish (Belgium)
France
Flemish
Croatia
Bosnian Mountain Villages
Extremadura, Spain
Denmark
Sicily, Italy
Arab (Israel)
Piemonte, Italy
It's pretty much the same as my last one, except the matches to Turkey dropped out of the top 20. I think I picked up more Portugal. Did I have that Croatia before? I know I had the Bosnian Mountain Villages.Last edited by rainbow; 16 April 2009, 06:24 PM.

Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth. It's so interesting to see the new changes. So, Syria is still #1 on your part B. (That's my hubby's #1 hit, too.) I'll wait a bit longer before I do any updates on myself -even though I'm always curious where things sit. (Last time, Iceland pushed Brazil out of my top 3.)

Does anyone know how quick the turnaround is for the 21 marker Tribes report, especially recently?
I just sent in my sample, and it got to the lab around Wednesday, this week. Any hope for receiving the report by the end of next week?
Can you tell I want to see the results?

My husband just received his a week or so ago. It took about 9 days total, (including the weekend days) from when they received it. It arrived in our email box on a Friday after 4 pm. Also, in the past, I've received report results late on a Saturday.
