should i be at all interested in 6 and 8 distances at 37?
Hi Jim,
In a genealogical time frame, no.
You might have an common ancestor with these two people in the last 3500 - 1000 years, but not within the last 500 years.
should i be at all interested in 6 and 8 distances at 37?
i have been given this did i do this right
let us say B = 25 years, then 108.8 x 25 = 2702 years TMRCA
now you [TP8E5] are 8 from me and [34H2M] is 6 see how close you are to each other
i checked it out you[TP8E5] are 10 from [34H2M] and me 6 so i am inbetween you two
so if i am right [34H2M] is 6
Simple method to calculate time to most recent ancestor (TMRCA)*
For this calculation we will use the example of a 29/37 match
Given that on average we have 1 mutation every 500 generations (per marker).
First we calculate 500 / Number of markers
Then 500/ 37 = 13.51 ( 1) & the difference in markers is 8 ( 2).
If we multiply ( 1) & ( 2) above we have : 13.51 x 8 =108.08
Then if we multiply 108.08 with the number of years per generation which we will call B
let us say B = 25 years, then 108.8 x 25 = 2702 years TMRCA
Then 500/ 37 = 13.51 ( 1) & the difference in markers is 6 ( 2).
