I've read (and heard on the news) that more and more DNA mapping sites are offering the ability to receive their known medical aspects and implications of doing one's gene-work. In my case mtDNA, FGS.
I would to like to know what's available to be found about disease, illness and other medical issues. I know there are a few familial conditions on my mother's side and I want to know whether or not to prepare every way I can for what might be in my genetic future.
But I don't want to start from scratch at a place like 23andme, where they've drastically dropped their prices recently. I feel as though I've already spent that amount (more) right here at Family Tree DNA. I would like FTDNA to make an optional site where those of us who want the medical information can get it.
I spent time and money here for both my brother and myself and I think we should be able to access here what other state-of-the-art sites are offering for the prices we've already paid.
Unless there is a place where I can take my results to interpret what I'm looking for, I'll probably leave FTDNA and take my dollars elsewhere.
