For British/Irish Y-DNA J2's: Bronze Age copper mine in Wales

Available for another five days is a radio report on a large Bronze Age copper mine on the north coast of Wales.

Great Orme Mine: Professor Aubrey Manning investigates the ancient Bronze Age mines at Great Orme Head on the Creuddyn Peninsula, Llandudno.

No discussion of DNA. However, this is the E3b and J2 hot spot shown on the map on p. 207 of the British edition of Oppenheimer's The Origins of the British. So either the miners or the people they traded with may be the ancestors of some British and Irish Y-DNA J2's.

Oppenheimer's book refers only to "J2," and that only briefly.

I tried to listen to it before, but it didn't work for me.
The copper mine(s) in the British Isles must have been a significant part of trade with the Phoenicians.

Phoenicians would get their tin from Wales/England, and copper from Cyprus (I think it was Cyprus, or one of those islands in the Mediterranean.), and silver from Iberia, to make bronze. It's nice to know that the British Isles were an additional source of copper.

Maybe that explains why I have so much Near Eastern ancestry in my DNA Tribes report. My British ancestors mixed with Phoenicians.

That is how Joseph of Arimathea got to spend the rest of his life in England. He traded in tin. Okay, then not just the Phoenicians, Jews also traded.
