  • Omnipop Results

I just loaded and came up with these new Omnipop results. They are very similar to DNATribes and DNAPrint results in regards to South Asians ancestry.

    Madeira Archipelago (53) 3.37E+21
    Karan (India) (61) 8.86E+21
    Oriya Brahmin (India) (61) 1.01E+22
    PC/BT Caucasian (4) 1.31E+22
    Gope (India) (61) 1.97E+22
    Argentinian (47) 3.17E+22
    Desasth brahmin (India) (58) 3.65E+22
    Kayasth (India) (72) 3.93E+22
    Bhumihar Brahmin (India) (72) 4.05E+22
    Brahmin (India) (72) 4.46E+22
    Ecuadorian (93) 5.08E+22
    Rajput (India) (72) 5.14E+22
    Albanians (Northern Italy) (12) 6.29E+22
    Azores (82) 6.68E+22
    Kurdish (Iraq) (225) 6.99E+22
    NCSBI Caucasian (4) 7.87E+22
    Chitpavan brahmin (India) (58) 8.92E+22
    NCSBI/CMPD Hispanic (4) 1.01E+23
    Bosnian (156) 1.52E+23
    PC/BT Hispanic (4) 1.72E+23
    Tunisian (59) 1.73E+23
    Norwegian (224) 2.08E+23
    Paraguayan (95) 2.22E+23
    Khandayat (India) (61) 2.31E+23
    NCSBI-Lumbee (Native American) (4) 2.79E+23
    PC/BT-Asian (4) 7.78E+23
    Dhangar (India) (58) 7.90E+23
    Somalian (225) 2.49E+24
    PC/BT African American (4) 5.75E+24
    NCSBI African American (4) 1.06E+25
    Guine-Bissau (80) 3.82E+25
    Chinese (83) 9.88E+25

How typical are scores like these?

    Do they reflect recent admixture?

    DNATribes High Resolution Matches

    Northeast European 25.23
    Mestizo 19.78
    North India 12.29
    Mediterranean 11.77
    Asia Minor 7.33
    Eastern European 5.56
    India 4.72

Any and all help would be appreciated.

    thanks,
    BW

No one can answer your question but you. If you are South Asian your matches may reflect admixture and if you are not South Asian your matches may reflect 'something else'.

You are more than twice as likely to be some breed of Iberian from the Madeira Archipelago as you are to be Karan. And you are only slightly less likely to be PC/BT Caucasian than Oriya. And about fifty percent more likely to be Gope than Argentinian.

But if you are not, then you are not. Or, if you are, then you are.

      To BlackWolf

I got some similar autosomals - your Wolf must be something like mine, huh woolfy ? (not exactly, but some of the same countries/locations).

I had mine done here at FamilyTreeDNA , they don't decode it for us ,ya know, but Omnipop does I learned on this forum months ago.

Here's some of My brag rap or crap sheet ,however you look at it:
      Madeira Archipelago 4.15
      India Desath Brahmin 1.58
      India Chitpavan Brahmin 1.01
      India Dhangar 1.50
      India Oriya Brahmin 2.04
      India Khandayat 5.02
      India Karan 1.13India Gope 3.50
      I'm also 10.00 points African American,5.23 Hispanic,1.82 Tunisian,3.75 Albanian(Northern Italy),some other tiny little things and Caucasian.

Response To Black Wolf, and all readers

I don't think I have enough markers to be a full Blown India Indian (OR ELSE I'D BE HAPLOGRP. MtM LIKE MANY INDIA PEOPLE ARE),but I have enough of a connection to the India continent ,to give me an exotic and broad outlook on life and I love nose rings, and India's independence, and turbans, and India's idea of societal order and science research, and all their pretty clothes. I always felt India was sort of the center of the universe, even before Israel. And I got some of that in me.

question: But when did all these genes get on there?

Well, it is difficult to say....as it is for most of us that have taken this test.

I had 20% South Asian on the DNAPrint tests and have scored well on the others and I also had a high Mestizo score. Above the Static line? Yeah, and whether it be ancient or recent it is there and that's all we can say.
