Hi all,
I KNOW you guys hate questions about autosmal testing, but here goes.:
I have taken virtually EVERY test FTDNA offers & had a little money to spend on a test from AncestrybyDNA. OUT OF CURIOSITY.
I upgraded to Euro 1.0 recently, my % are 78% Northern European 20% Middle Eastern, & 2% South Asian.
My questions are- The 20% Middle Eastern fits because my paternal YDNA is J2f. The 78% Northern European fits as well.
On my Mom's side, Ydna is R1b1c & U5a, so I'm thinking the majority of the 20 % Middle Eastern must have come from my paternal side. It seems to fit.
Does this seem to be ALOT of Middle Eastern DNA? IS THERE ANY WAY TO TELL HOW RECENT IT IS??
My husband came up with 6% Native American & his paper trail supports this to a T!
Unfortunately, I have no such paper trail to lead me to a Middle Eastern ancestor on either side.
Can anyone explain how I came to have such a HIGH % of this Middle Eastern DNA.
PLEASE, no cutting remarks on how I should've KNOWN better than to buy this test! I went into this knowing most people look down on this test. I was skeptical too. But I thought it would be fun.
Thanks,
Cinda
