  • Posting of Surnames

I wonder if it would be possible for Family Tree to post all surnames along with the country of origin, which have had the Y-DNA testing and have signed the required release form.

As surnames have mutated over time (along with the the DNA),
perhaps this would help track down our remote ancestors.

ie. One of my ancestors changed his surname from Donabie to Danabie because of a family dispute.

    Donabie
(Donaby, Dunaby, Dunnabie, Danabie, Donachie, Donaghy)

On the home page you can click "surname project" for an alphabet of surname projects. Click on the letter and check out the surnames. If you find a match, contact them. I didn't see your name listed, though. Do you have a surname project going?

Sorry Whitney, I must have missed this procedure the first time around. I am participating in the Clan Donnachaidh Project, but you have it listed under Robertson. You might want to list it under Donnachaidh as well.

Can my name be added to the general list of surnames or is there a special procedure to follow ?

      Donabie
