  • Question on DSY464

    My question on DSY464 is that i notice most people have 4 or 5 values( A thru D/E) and I have 7 values 464a - 11, 464b - 11, 464c - 13, 464d - 13, 464e - 14, 464f - 15, 464g - 16. Is this common ?

    It's actually hard to say.

Some people do have more than four copies of DYS464, but different labs can interpret the test result differently.

Your results were reported as 11-11-13-13-14-15-16 (seven copies). Some labs might interpret the same test as 11-13-14-15-16 (five copies), so it is hard to say just how common seven copies of DYS464 really are.

The important thing to remember, genealogically speaking, is that someone else with similar DNA might have their results reported differently so be careful when comparing your test results to those of a potential relative.
