  • SNP changed 3 times and now Im a New branch??

So lets start off by explaining what happened. I purchased the Big Y-700 and was put in to
    R-M207>M173>M343>L754>L761>L389>P297>M269
    all good, least I thought...
Next week, im assuming do to more test results I was moved to
    R-M207>M173>M343>L754>L761>L389>P297>M269>L23>L51>P3 10>L151>P312>Z46516>ZZ11>U152>L2>Z49>Z142>Z51>L562 >Z57>Z148>Z149>Z52>BY33643.
I then also upgraded to the family finder and was then moved to
    R-M207>M173>M343>L754>L761>L389>P297>M269>L23>L51>P3 10>L151>P312>Z46516>ZZ11>U152>L2>Z49>Z142>Z51>L562 >Z57>Z148>Z149>Z52>BY33643>Y54052
    ok...
2 days later I was then moved to
    R-M207>M173>M343>L754>L761>L389>P297>M269>L23>L51>P3 10>L151>P312>Z46516>ZZ11>U152>L2>Z49>Z142>Z51>L562 >Z57>Z148>Z149>Z52>BY33643>Y54052> R-BY92696

Were I am at and this is a New Branch or something as all of the info on this Haplo group says to check back in a week or 2 for more info.

Question is why wouldnt the BIG Y-700 have uncoverd this and only after I upgraded to familyfinder did it push me to other haplogroups. Isnt the Big-Y supposed to be the end all for info???

I doubt the FF had anything to do with the above other than coincidental timing. Just my IMO.

I think you keep getting updated as FTDNA does manual reviews. It might be that the results from other testers have also come in, which affects your haplotype. Since the reviews are not automated but from a real analyst, he may have noticed something new.

BY92696 is currently your final haplotype, but that could also be updated over time. In other words, the current "end all" until the next "end all"

I have requested from FTDNA that reassigned terminal SNPs should generate an e-mail to the kit manager (and admins of any project where he is a member) as a "New Result."
What is reported by Wgrant is greatly to be desired, and as mabrams notes, these reassignments bringing terminals downstream will have nothing to do with Family Finder until the haplo prediction from atDNA is implemented, and we would hope that atDNA could only reveal an upstream relative to Big Y terminal.

I should have written: "and we would assume that atDNA can only reveal an upstream relative to any Big Y terminal."
