    DNA missing!

I think I might be able to make a little money here. Hows this sound: Well get The Shadow, Bigfoot, a few Aliens and the hottie Neanderthal together and we'll go on tour. We can do appearances on late nite tv and radio, make a movie, write a book, (which will become a best seller) do a few infommercials and live like millonaires for the rest of our lifes! Only serious need apply!

Maria, do you think it will be worth it to tell the media? We'll lose our nice quiet lifestyles, privacy, peaceful coexistance with our neighbours. Is it worth it, just for money from TV and magazines, book publishers, movie people...Maria...Maria (as she hypnotically stares at the glorious monsters)??

        3 week delay!

Just got off the phone with Brandy from FTDNA from Houston. She said that my results most likely wouldn't be in till the end of Nov(expected date Nov 8, 2006) So that is 3 weeks delay. She said that they were flooded with samples because of the old price dropping, lab merger and the fact that the full sequence had over 16,000 bp. So, like Tom says: keep breathing, eatting, exercising and paying your bills!

          Can't decide!

          Andrew
Still trying to decide if I want to be famous, rich , have anything you want or be poor and a unknown and eat at a greasy spoon diner. But it really is up to The Shadow, Bigfoot, the Aliens and the Hottie Caveman. We have to consider their wishes too. You know the holidays are comming and we all could use the extra cash.

Another delay? Sounds like their business is being crushed from the needs out there.

Two options: 1. Buy stock in DNA testing right now (think of all the parts of the world this market hasn't spread to yet) or 2. Get together with some scientist-types and invent a DNA home-test kit (with corresponding web-site database) to sell in pharmacies so anyone can quickly cook up a batch of their own.

            Maria,

Tarzan, Frankenstein and Superman are confused with their results too, not to mention the X-testing of the X-men. Oh well, at least the Christmas market is making us poorer with their marketable personas.

Their business is not being crushed. They had a huge influx of orders the day they announced a deep discount for mtDNA Full Sequence tests. So all of a sudden they have 100+ of these tests to process at one time, while they normally probably have only a handful, if even that many. Excess volume = delays. Once the influx of new tests are complete, I'm sure their processing of full sequence tests will go back to normal delivery times.

I meant crushed in a good sense, like nets of fisherment ripping (but repairable) due to a huge catch. I'm sure after working on the present load, things will go smoothly and customers will be served in good time.

I wish customers would crush through the doors of my place of employment (two small Christian churches in rural Ontario towns).

No one noticed that my name mutated from one form to another form while waiting for my Haplogroup results on the adjusted June 6, 2005 date.

So sorry to have missed mutation.

                        Dear Greg.
I am so, so sorry that I missed your name mutation. I am usually very good about events such as name mutations. I feel really bad about that. How long did it take.? Where you alone by yourself? Was it painfull? Have you suffered any long term effects from it? Is there anything treatment for it? Can we assist you in any way? What is your new name.

I am ok, Maria_W. I lost my password, and I wanted to post from work. I attempted to get the webmaster to send me my password, but no one responded. So, I decided to enter in a different user name for lunchtime at work. The mutation happened after a year. I was all alone, and it was some what painful. The long term problems seem minimum. However, they have not updated the date my SNPs will be ready. I do not know if there is a treatment. So, I guess the best we can do is a little research. My old name was GregKiroKH and my new name is GregKiroKH2.

Just got an email that my full-sequence mtDNA results due Nov. 1 will be delayed another 1-2 weeks and the 48-60 marker segment of my yDNA test due Sept. 20 will also be delayed another 1-2 weeks.

The mtDNA is delayed by recallibration issues and the yDNA is being rerun.

Seems to suggest that the brand-new, state-of-the-art, robotic ABI 3739 sequencer needed tweaking.
