  • Overall lab delays.

Greetings all- it has come to my attention that the lab has fallen about two weeks behind in testing/posting results due to a recalibration of the panels, according to Ms. McDonald of FTDNA.

It only came to my attention after my expected lab results were a few days beyond the target date, and I sent a query to them. I wish that they would have sent out an e-blast to all of the customers who are waiting, or at the very least, changed the target date on our personal pages(which has still not been changed on mine). It just would have been nice to not have to chase anyone down.

Hopefully the end results will provide us with improved results, and I wonder if it will indeed effect any previous results that we have.

    Cheers.

    Results overdue.

    Hi.
Yes I am waiting for my full mtDNA to come in. It is batch 172 and expected date was Nov 8, 2006. My x test results are expected Nov 22, 2006 and batch 174. With the 2 week delay it looks like mtDNA won't be done till Nov 22, 2006. Would have been nice to knew this also. I was about to query them myselves. If you don't mind me asking, what results are you waiting for?

I am actually glad to hear that they acknowledge the problem and have a specific reason for it. My project's list of overdue results has been growing.

I'm in 171 and its due date was November 8. I'm expecting 25 markers. No changes in my date have been announced. Another person in my batch (see the batch 171 section in "batches") had a due date of November 6 for their mtDNA results. They came over 2 weeks ago, raising my hopes.

            No results.

Well, thats interesting that the person who was in batch 171 with a Nov 6, date got theirs 2 weeks early. I am in batch 172 with Nov 8 for full mtDNA and no results. Why?

              Only the shadow knows.

Anyway, with my deep SNP I was told to possably wait another 3 weeks. I got my results the day after that message appeared. Only I noticed that one of the numbers (a rather insignificant negative for 148) appeared a couple of weeks later.

How can you stand it. What is their explanation of your very, very late results. May!

                        Bigfoot stole mine!

Maybe Bigfoot got mine. It was reported that a man saw a huge hairy creature dragging a deer off of his car. Forgot where it was. It was in the news today.

When the delay came for my deep SNP results I truly believed that the weeks were needed for National Geographic to officially claim exclusive rights for this cover story: Distinctive Neandertal DNA (mine) Found in Routine Test at Texas FTDNA Lab.

I was wondering who that hairy looking person was on the cover of National Geographics? Now I know! Hey you could always star in a Geico commercial. I'll let you in on a secret: I think cave men are HOT!
