I have a 4th Great Grandmother who married a man with the last name Jacobs. He died and she then married my 4th Great Grandfather. On a different line in my tree I'm trying to determine a 3rd Great Grandmother. The woman I think it may be actually married one of the Jacobs sons from the other line. When I look at the DNA matches from BOTH Grandmothers many are the same. Half cousins all through the Jacobs lines. (The Jacobs from both Grandmothers is by marriage. I don't have any Jacobs DNA). Could this mean that the DNA is strictly through my 4th Great Grandmother or could my 3rd Gr Grandmother hypothesis be correct/incorrect? I hope this isn't too confusing..
