I found this site about human anthropology. I know one should be careful with these things but decided to trust their disclaimer:

"This website is a compendium of genetic studies, anthropological surveys, historical perspectives and photo series addressing various topics related to racial origins, affinities and myths. Its aim is to counter the proliferation of pseudo-scholarship coming from Nordicists (White Nationalists), Afrocentrists, Multi-Racialists and Race-Deniers all over the internet. The accumulated materials are intended only to correct misinformation, not to denigrate any group or advance a political agenda. The webmaster holds no special credentials in any of the fields mentioned."

After looking at the photos of different phenotypes, I think the Tronder phenotype and a hint of East Baltic is the closest to what I look like:

Tronder: A hybrid type of Nordic with Corded and Brünn elements, frequent in the central coastal provinces of Norway, north of the Dovre Mountains; the principal form in Iceland, and among the Frisians, and common in the British Isles.

East Baltic: Racial type of composite nature, found chiefly in northeastern Germany, Poland, the Baltic States, and Finland, although it also occurs sporadically in Sweden and elsewhere. It is a partially reduced Borreby derivative, with Ladogan and Nordic admixture.

"Lappish: A stunted, highly brachycephalized, largely brunet relative of the Ladogan, originally living to the east of the Ladogan type area, in the Urals and western Siberia. Has probably assimilated some evolved mongoloid, but owes its partly mongoloid appearance more to the retention of an early intermediate evolutionary condition. In modern times much mixed with Ladogan and Nordic"

    This is crap website.

      Ladogan and Lappish
      Eki,
Thanks for the link to this interesting site. Just looking at the pictures, I think my Finnish grandfather and his brother most resembled the Ladogan and Lappish faces. My Finnish grandmother had a somewhat different look. Not sure which face...
      Kiitos. Judy

Just noticed that the French and Swiss soccer teams have only 8 players together...(for obvious reasons) wonder if the site is not from Jean-Marie Lepen, the leader of the "Parti National" who wasn't happy with the 1998 victory in the world Soccer games because most players were "foreigners".

What's the point of the authors? that races do exist?

I suspect, the author is the same guy who owns racialreality.blospot.com damned idiot obsessed with pure races. As always, you are very discerning, Eki

I noticed that fellow named Coon was a source for lots of this material. His work is totally skewered in Spencer Wells' book "The Journey of Man."

Their genographic interpretations might be innacurate, since they are based on what they knew (or thought they knew) about 70 years ago. But otherwise I think it's interesting.

Yes, unfortunately they had mostly male faces, so it's understandably difficult or even impossible to identify any females based on them.

I'm not sure, but there was a link to a "Human Biodiversity Forum", so I thought his point might be "people are different from each other, but that's a good thing".

Their interpretation might be innacurate is to say an understatement.

"Their present location in northern Scandinavia and the Kola Peninsula is probably recent, and their area of differentiation is believed to have been situated in the neighborhood of the Urals."

                        Source "Lapps and Samoyeds"

I have a strong feeling that there is no real method behind these so called studies. I dont see any statistics and description of methods, as we can see well descriped by Niskanen.

Especially if I claim it was the Iron Age Halstatt culture that brought R1b to Scandinavia:

"Hallstatt Nordic: This is the type associated with the Hallstatt Iron Age remains in central Europe, and which probably did not enter Scandinavia much before the middle of the first millennium B.C. It has since been largely replaced in central Europe, but has found a refuge in Sweden and in the eastern valleys of southern Norway. In England this type is largely of Anglo-Saxon and Danish inspiration."

Seems like the Halstatt people may have been Celtic:

Maria-Hilf is a pilgrimage church in the town of Halstatt, Austria.

"The small town of Halstatt and its adjoining lake, Halstattersee, derive their names from Hal, the old Celtic word for salt. For at least 2,800 years salt has been mined in the area, making the Halstatt mines among the oldest in the world. From 1000 to 500 BC the town flourished as a major European trading center and this period of Celtic culture has become known as the Halstatt epoch of the early Iron Age. Following the Celts, the salt mines continued to be worked by the Romans and later the medieval Europeans; today the mines are a great underground museum of prehistoric technology"

Curiously, I look most like the Halstatt Nordic photo (with less hair, unfortunately). On the Nordish website, I fit most into the "related East Nordid" category. Every bit as good looking as the photo examples as well

Yes, I'm sure Cavalli-Sforza was right when he concluded after his research in genetic clustering within human populations that strict racial classification is “futile”. For example, everybody can see that people in Finland look in average different from people in Kenya, but if you travel from Finland to Kenya, you won't find a place where people stop looking Finnish and start looking Kenyan.
