Which test to use

I am new to using DNA testing for genealogy. There are stories concerning my husband's family being Native American. This is how the generations go for him.
Husband
Mother
Grandmother
GreatGrandmother
GreatGreatGrandfather
GreatGreatGreat Grandfather
Native American GGGGGrandfather

Can he be tested and if so which test.

Either you go with DNAPrint and chances are that it may not show up because the dilution is too high, or you find a direct male descendant of the GGGfather and test his Y-DNA

Hey Karen,

This is true. I did exactly that test & it shows 98% European & 2% East Asian (because the dilution 'erased' the Native American specific markers they look for).

Like Max said you need to find a direct male descedant of the GGGG Grandfather or least the GG grandfather.

My DNAPrint came back 87% Euro, 11% EA, 2% SubSSA, 0% NA
