it opens for me with Windows 2000..I just don't know where to go on it to do anything meaningful..
What can I do there with my X markers?

Works with Firefox but not working with Safari.

KC, Choose (either) 'Go to the ChrX STR via the linkage table' or 'ideogram'
Choose the marker you want to see population data for. Pop data is limited but it is all we have at present.

If you have not tested these markers yet do it now, the full mtDNA match engine is running and as I understand the X-STR match engine will be up soon!

Dr Krahn told me he is working on more haploblocks like 10074,10075, and 10079.

Me too. Nice surprise. Already posted on Xmatch under user: Dorothee.

                The second maternal haploblock is:
                DXS10074 - 16
                DXS10075 - 17
                DXS10079 - 22

                (The first was 8, 18, 17)

Got my X-STR results for this block as well. I've posted them in the DB, but do not know how to find matches.

                    10074 - 8, 16
                    10075 - 17,18
                    10076 - 17, 17

I need to have my mom tested (father is unknown) to see which I received from her and which came from my father, I guess.

                      Hi Padgett
If you posted your markers at DNA Fingerprint..you can go into the "databases" which are listed on the left side. You would then put in your DS 10074,10075 and 10079 and click the button..it is an interactive database.. It is not real often that all 3 of those match..so if you get no "hits" then take one off..

In theory ( and in actuality I think) those whom you "look most like " autosomally are geographically similar to you..

I found my Dad's by testing my sister & myself..our parents are deceased.

You would match me if one of your blocks resolves as 8, 18, 17. I believe I posted yesterday to your DNA-F mailbox. You will find the notice of mail under login after you login.

To find matches you have to enter the values that you want to check into the boxes and then press search.

To figure out which of your values make up a ht block you would have to have your mother tested. One of each value should match her and that would be one of your ht blocks. Your other remaining values would be your father's ht block. Then you would also have your mother's other ht block that you didn't inherit. So all together you would figure out three ht blocks. If you had your maternal grandmother tested too, then you could figure out your maternal grandfather's ht block and both of your grandmother's ht blocks.

I cant understand why FTDNA dont yet have a X-STR haploblock match engine running, it should requires minimal adaption of existing software. It seems the state beuracracy may be quicker to do changes than FTDNA.

Hi. Just got the first 4 markers from Panel 2 of my XSTR test from FTDNA:

                                DXS10074 18
                                DXS10075 18
                                DXS10077 20
                                DXS10079 22

The "weird" one in terms of the Szibor paper is the DXS10079 22. I guess it isn't necessarily weird, it's just not in any of their samples. (Or at least, any of the ones that were common enough for them to print -- I think they did say they only listed results above a certain frequency). My mother's father's mother was Alsacian, and my mother's mother's mother was Catalan (from her father), and French and Irish (from her mother). At least it seems like the more immediately interesting markers got done first!
