    P66 validated

I got my P66 result last week... negative. Have also ordered the S series from Ethnoancestry, while waiting on M37 (likely to turn out negative, too).

We were successful in re-validating these problematic SNPs and everyone who was missing these SNPs has been pulled and is being re-run. We are expecting these overdue results in 3-5 weeks. When these were finally revalidated, we did not initially fully understand how difficult it would be for the lab to pull the small amount of DNA necessary for the hundreds of samples waiting for just a few SNPs. Because it must be done by hand the lab is moving much slower than expected in order to be as cautious as possible to avoid any errors. We are currently working to come up with a better way to solve this problem. Please know that these overdue R1b results are our highest priority and please accept my apology that you have had to wait so long to see these results.
I've been waiting since last June, but I've been getting regular responses to my questions about their testing status. In my last request on 10-October-2006, their message above explains what they are expecting to happen.

FTDNA has been so responsive to my questions that I'm okay with waiting. Especially since this is a problem area for testing. From their previous responses, they are strongly focused on getting it right rather than on time. It would be my choice if I were managing their process so I've decided to drop down into relaxed mode and wait for the results to display.

What has been returned is: R1b1c
    Still being chewed on are: M37, M160 & P66

    Congrats!

You should visit the R Forum and post your results there. There are some R1b1c9 guys there who would be glad to welcome another one.

Now that you know your are S21+, you already know the outcome on those last three SNPs: negative.

You should send your results, along with your name and YSearch number, to Dr. John McEwan at [email protected] .

    give up finally

    Off course...
After sixth reminder and having same broken record responses, I finally gave up . Now , I am going to send my samples to the UK where they can handle ancient haplo I s much more efficiently. I am from the Balkans and probably my Y DNA is quite old and rare like a Bordeaux wine . It should include a terroir part as well .

One would think that the first to order would be the first to get the results
back - unless there is some reason they are taking longer on certain
    individuals tests.
Here is the response I got back from FTDNA this morning, to that very question:

"I apologize for the delay in seeing your R1b SNP results. As you know, we have successfully re-validated these SNPs and everyone who is waiting on the results has been pulled and is in the process of being re-run. We are expecting these overdue results in 3-4 weeks. I have heard of this happening to others and just wonder how long the wait might be.

I'm in the same situation. My R1b deep clade results oiginally were due 24 April. I received partial results in early May, and have been waiting for P66 and M37 ever since. Beginning about 2 or 3 months ago FTDNA indicated on repeated occasions that P66 results were on the verge of being released. The last time I corresponded with them they told me that I'd have my P66 results "within the week". That was a month ago. My advice: don't hold your breath.
