  • I used to have low scores.

I had thought that your 0.33 Chol Maya was the TribeScore that is supposed to be in parentheses., and that your MLI is probably very high. If 0.33 is your MLI, then that is sort of odd because yes I think that your Native American panel scores should be way higher because your parents are Guatemalan.

And for the record, I don't have any known Alaskan Athabaskan ancestry at all

      • Hi Sherrie,

Thank you for posting your DNA Tribes results.
We may be related. We share oodles of Portugal, and we have Northwest Spain, Maghrebi, and Morocco. I see you have a Northern Ireland top 20. My Northern Ireland match is below my top 20, but is in my extended report.

          Hi Rainbow,
It does seem we have alot in common and be cousins along the line somewhere. They explained to me its berber for the north african region and celt sub region for portugual do you think this looks like a moor?north portugal was included in the south part of Gallaecia and known for the lusitanians /callaicans.Could the north african ancestor be Mechta-Afalou or Mechtoid late Paleolithic and Mesolithic Ibero-Maurusian archaeological culture.Related or similar to cro magnon in south europe. What are your thoughts?

          • The truth!

I was reading terms and conditions on a DNA testing site and if this isnt the truth I dont know what is......I got a good chuckle and could relate to the words shock and disbelief how ever I didnt seek any treatment for it!

Please note: Studies have shown that learning new or surprising information about your genetic profile can result in unforeseen emotional responses, including but not limited to shock, depression, anger, disbelief, etc. We are not responsible for these emotional responses, and we recommend that you seek counseling from a qualified health professional immediately if this should occur.

I don't know. I googled it and wikipedia didn't much to say about Mechtoids.
My idea is that people traveled up and down from Morocco and Portugal and the British Isles. Maybe while there was still a land bridge, or maybe after the area flooded and looks like it does now and they travled by boat, or both. Southern England used to be connected to France. So maybe Iberia and the the British Isles had a land bridge too?

I did once read about people travelling by boat from Spain to 'discover' Ireland.

                  • I just figured out how to copy and paste from the tricky pdf that pasted upside down. Rotate until it is upside-down, then copy and paste it, and it shows rightside-up.

                      • Thanks for sharing, Sali.
Do you know if you have British Isles ancestry in your family tree? Do you have Brazilian matches in your extended report?

I do have British Isles ancestry, but my matches are further down the list. I don't have Brazilian ancestry, but I have high matches.
