I wonder if they actually have samples? I'm betting that Cherokee may not be willing to offer samples since the recent vote to oust the Cherokee Freedmen. They might not want to know if any admixture with freed slaves was evident at this point.

There is official resistance across all tribes to participation in genetic testing for anything other than tribal purposes. So it unlikely that any frequency stats will be forthcoming via that avenue.

The Minnesota Native American data is collected by Minnesota law enforcement. Minnesota evidently has mandatory testing, samples typed by race of the offender, and a provision for the dissemination of statistics. Other states in which American Indians reside may neither collect nor release data as Minnesota does.

Confusing Results

My fathers sister just had an update and it shows her #1 Native match as Egyptian? World Region top matches are N African, Mediternanean, E European and then NW European.
We have traced this paternal line all the way back to the 1600's and there is only German and English. No Native American or any other race except English and German.
I don't believe the ancient DNA theories.

I had an update on my mom's DNA Tribes test. It's the first update since last year. The matches remain the same but the numbers are now smaller except for the World Match. Some have grown slightly.

Did your Y-DNA and mtDNA results make sense given your ancestry? For me, the autosomal results do not make any sense either but the other DNA results are completely consistent with my ancestry. As I have 100% european ancestry, I have also found ENSFI to be far more accurate than DNATribes in applying my results. I believe that DNATribes is not using enough markers at this time to make their results reliable for a substantial number of their customers.

This must be gratifying. The parenthetical scores for Mestizo and New World mixed-race populations are quite high compared to all others.

I think these together are pretty good scores that could be expected for a person with Native American background. I am noticing more people on other forums getting high Asian scores that have known Native American.

newbie looking for help

just got my report back and there are family rumors about having native american and asian ancestory. My mother is supposedly 1/68th Cherokee and my Father supposedly has Mongolian ancestory, are the scores i got good or bad let me know thank you.
