  • How do I find my haplotype? (Haplogroup is B2)

I got our full-sequence mtDNA results last night for my grandfather's line. (Yay!). Haplogroup is B2, but where is the haplotype listed?

I have a BUNCH of numbers under "Extra Mutations" and HVR1, HVR2, and Coding Regions. Are those my haplotypes?

Please pardon my ignorance - new to this!

    Thanks

    Shana

Shana, congratulations on getting him a full mtDNA test. Those really are all the mutation codes involved in defining his variety of B2. You can compare your family's B2 line with other B2 branches such as those listed at http://www.ianlogan.co.uk/sequences_..._sequences.htm and those in Family Tree DNA projects. Your grandfather is also eligible to submit his own mtDNA codes to GenBank's public database if he wishes.
