  • Drilling down?

I'm apologize in advance for asking something which has probably been asked 1,000 times before, but it's easier than using most forum search engines.

I recently received my results - 100% Ashkenazi. From some additional research, I understand this is a population with a mix of Middle Eastern and European DNA which has been relatively stable for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

What I'd like to do is find to what degree there are tools available here at FTDNA to drill down further - whether I can discover the specific European and other strains in my personal makeup. I'm also interested in reasonable next steps to use the information I have.

    Thanks.

Eurogenes K36 is the deep ancestry tool to use. Free for FamilyTreeDNA customers who upload to GEDmatch.com. But we already know that Ashkenazi DNA from outside of the Mideast consists mostly of Italian plus a much lesser amount of Polish with a trace of French and sometimes a dash of Spanish or Dutch or Chinese

Sorry for the delay in thanking you. I forgot to subscribe to the thread.

That is interesting information. I'll look into it.

Edit: I just did. Very, very interesting.
