well, I know of one certain "back migration" (if that is what it is), which is that one of the UK folks with my surname who is in the British DNB was posted to Vilnius by the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th c. so I doubt he had any descendents... but ya never know!
and the main thing is the swedish and finnish branches were already going strong by then.
I would give an eye tooth to get some of them tested!
