  • Is there any chance someone could help me?

I have recently done an AncestryDNA test. I feel a little confused about it ever since I put my raw dna data in GEDmatch.

The results I got from GEDmatch seem to differ a lot from my Ancestry results. I am quite impressed with GEDmatch as I have had a few people contact me already and we have seemed to have found a link when comparing family trees.

I was wondering if anyone could break this down for me or maybe simplify it. If so I would be hugely greatful!

    These are my AncestryDNA results....

    Africa - 1%
    Africa North - 1%
    Europe 99%
    Great Britain - 58%
    Europe West - 39%
    Italy/Greece - 1%
    Iberian Peninsula - 1%

    These are my GEDmatch K13

    Admix Results (sorted):

    # Population Percent
    1 North_Atlantic 46.29
    2 Baltic 25.03
    3 West_Med 13.94
    4 East_Med 8.03
    5 West_Asian 4.72

Finished reading population data. 204 populations found.

I'm mostly confused about the population approximations and what they mean and also about the Mediterranean and West Asian result.

Many thanks to anyone who replies!
