Why don't I show up as a maternal match to my aunt?

My aunt has to 'familial' matches...one is my cousin and one is a distant cousin. I'm on FTDNA as is my son...so why don't we show up with a red person! Seems odd to me. My heavens, we share tons of DNA!

if you are referring to the first one, you will be maternal and paternal match to her, not just maternal.
You share both her maternal line and paternal line (unless she is a half aunt)
