I'm using Brother's Keeper now. It is very reasonably priced ($40 US) shareware that you can try for free before you pay and register to have access to all of the features. It handles many different languages and alphabets and has been around for quite a few years. A friend in Norway recommended it and I've been pleased so far. We've been sending BK data files back and forth to one another online, without converting our data to GEDcoms, which is quite handy. Absolutely nothing is lost! I wish I'd started my tree on my desktop instead of online with one of the big companies that offers DNA tests and charges a membership fee. Although I can create a GEDcom from that big online tree, the GEDcom won't contain everything that is linked.
