  • Manually entering Family Tree

I am manually entering my family tree. If I already have a person in the tree in one place and then have the father in the tree in another place. How do I connect them as father and son?

You can't do that. The tree you are putting on is for phasing purposes so link (or enter) the person where they have the closest relationship to you would be my advice. if they allowed you to link the same person in different parts of your tree the phasing could be jeopardised, at least thats my understanding of it.

Can you delete the son where he is now, then add him as a son to the father?

I could do that but then I couldn't link him to his wife. These are two people that are related that married each other. Therefore they eventually go back to the same person.

Do you have a genealogy software program from which you could produce a gedcom (.ged) file to upload? That is the easiest way, and with any luck would show the right relationships for this man.

If not, and your tree is not too large, could you construct it so it goes up to this married couple, and then grow the rest of the ancestors out from each?
