Y-DNA test upgrade?

If my son only had about 10 matches on the 25 marker on the Y-37 test there is no reason to upgrade correct to the y-67? He has TONS of 12 but not a whole lot to go off up higher up.

It is possible to have matches at 67 markers when you don,t have any at 37 markers.

I'd wait until FTDNA announces a sale on the upgrade and then order the 37 to 67 marker upgrade.

You never know when 37 marker matches might show up.

Are all his matches Y-37 or have they tested more markers? It might always be that these matches might prove to be a better match with more markers. If they haven't tested then you'd not know.

The reason it is possible to have matches at 67 when none at 37 is because 67 includes matches with more differences - you will not have matches at 67 with a 0-step difference if you do not have matches at 37 with a 0-step difference (etc).
