  • Help with understanding results and GedMatch

My results on MyOrigins break down as:
    82% British Isles
    14% Southern Europe
    3% Central Asia
    1% Eastern Europe

My Paternal Grandfather was 100% Slovakian with some Hungarian/German Surnames dating back to the 1700's. Do any of you have any idea where that could be in the MyOrigins results? Also, I ran a couple of tests at GedMatch and I keep getting a lot of Caucasus and Mediterranean. Some test even show 11% Iranian. I am still trying to figure out what is going on. My Gedmatch is A893084 if any of you want to run some tests and help me understand what is going on. Also, what tests do you recommend I run on GedMatch?

    Thank you for your time.

Your results are similar to mine:

    39% Scandinavia
    31% British Isles
    20% Southern Europe
    7% Eastern Europe
    3% Central Asia

My maternal grandfather was 100% Czech.

From what I understand, the best calculators to use for those of overwhelmingly European ancestry are Eurogenes, though they don't have any Czech samples, and usually give me Croatian, Serbian and Hungarian. I honestly still can't make heads or tails of this stuff.
