I just had my 37 marker test after a family finder result. What can I do with this result? I can test against a probable cousin....but is there anything else? Not sure if there is merit in going on.....any advice on options welcome

How many Y-DNA matches do you have at each level (12, 25 & 37 markers)? Do any of them match your surname? When you view your Y-DNA matches the third column shows which test, among other thing, your match has. If there is a FF that tells you the match has also ordered Family Finder. Is that person in you Family Finder matches?

Y-DNA only finds matches along the Paternal line while Family Finder finds matches from all lines. Y-DNA can find matches much farther back than Family Finder.

What is your predicted Haplogroup?

I have about five matches at 37 with 34\37. They have the same surname. They are probable cousins 5th or so I guess. I have loads at 12 markers but most with no surname match. predicted group M269

I have some questions that are a bit off-topic. How many of them have an FF next to the number of Y-DNA markers they have tested? If there are any, do they show up in your Family Finder matches?
