How to match all autosomal DNA testers

I was just reading on the ISOGG wiki that the FTDNA autosomal database is only 140,000 people, and that 23andMe is 900,000 and Ancestry is 700,000? Are we missing a lot of potential matches because we cannot match with 23andMe or Ancestry? What percentage of those using those other two testing companies transfer their DNA to FTDNA or Gedmatch? Seems like a lot of missed matches if we cannot attempt to match over a million DNA kits. Is this why some people test with all of them?

I can't answer what percentage transfer but yes you are missing out on a lot of matches if you only test at one company, it's best to test at all 3 in my opinion.

Yes, as there always be people who test with only one company and do not share their results elsewhere.
