My surname should be different because my grandfather got the Holt name from his mother. How in the world can I match a man at 67 with the last name Lamon?

Two men who are a 67 marker match can belong in the same terminal SNP subgroup. It is possible that the match that you have could be before surnames originated. Some men with different surnames match at 62/67 in the M222 subgroup. M222 is estimated to be around 1800-3500 ybp.
