    Parkinsons

While some recent medical journals have stated that there now seems to be a genetic link to Parkinsons, it is not difinitive. And further, this would not be the place to find those test results. This site deals only with the markers indicating DNA for the sake of genealogy as it pertains to tracking one's possible ancesters.
You should contact a major medical school/university/hospital which specializes in neurological research. Harvard University Med School/Massachusetts General Hosp is an example. Barrows Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ is another, Loma Linda in Los Angeles is yet a third. There are many exemplary medical research institutions who specialize in neuro issues.
    Hope it helps.

    DNA test for Parkinson's?

Hi. I'm not sure where to go to have my question answered.

My paternal grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1998 (he's now 83). Is there any way for my father (age 58) and my uncle (age 56) to be tested to see if they have the gene for Parkinson's?

Any info would be very helpful!

    Thanks!

    Mary Anne
