I know I'm getting way ahead of myself given that I don't even have my own 25 marker results yet, but there is an entry in the SMGF database that we believe has a strong chance of being a match with my line, so I was plugging those markers into Whit Athey's Haplogroup Predictor and coming up with some results that (if I were to be a match with this entry) have me wondering how FTDNA might predict my haplogroup.
The predictor notes that values above 50 indicate a good fit with the haplogroup. However, I'm getting a 55 for Q, and 51 for R1b. With the values being this close and both over 50, would FTDNA likely not be confident in my haplogroup and suggest further testing, or would 55 to 51 likely be separation enough to say "probably Q"? Or is it even a stretch to guess what FTDNA might predict if Athey's predictor has it this close?
Thanks!
Scott
