  • Autosomal Panel 3 regarding Native American admixture

I am trying to prove/debunk Native American admixture in my DNA results.
It was suggested to me that I take the Autosomal Panel 3 tests to solve this mystery. I finally received all of my results. How do I interpret them? I know that a value of 9 on marker D9S919 definitely means Native American ancestry, but that a value other than 9 does not disprove Native American ancestry. That’s all I know about the markers - just that one. I have all of the results of the entire panel but I need explanations on them in order to see what they can tell me. Does anyone know where I can get information on how to interpret the values of this panel?

    Hi,

D9S919=9 is the native marker on that panel. Who suggested that you needed the whole panel?

A fellow researcher who was dealing with a similar situation had done some research and gotten some of those tests done, which is why I decided to get them.

A 4% NA result appeared in my results from BritainsDNA. Since I have seen NA admixture appear in the calculators at GEDMATCH and have seen it in the chromosome paintings there, I decided to investigate further. Later, BritainsDNA explained that the wrong results had been uploaded to some accounts (including mine) and the 4% NA results disappeared. However, I still see it show up in multiple places on GEDMATCH. I have no known NA ancestry nor do I have any oral family history stating such. The NA result that appears on GEDMATCH is interesting and I'd like to see if there is any truth to it.

I am 50% Italian, 25% Irish and 25% Polish. The Irish branch is the only branch that could possibly explain the NA admixture, or could it be the 25% Polish, as was recently suggested to me? I don't know which is why I am seeking information on how to prove or disprove this admixture. When I came upon a thread by a fellow researcher who was investigating a similar mystery and had found information on this panel and that it could help shed some light, I decided to get the tests done.
