2 people who match my MtDNA exactly have now included a subclade of H (they are related). They are now listed as H49. What are the chances that my family is the same subclade? One of them matches my mother on FF as a 5th cousin remote and my brother as well but he does not match me. This is exciting as we have always been listed as H*. Where can I get information on this subclade?

I would believe yours is the same. I posted a thread here titled "are you really plain h" or similar. You could do a search for that to find out more. I was plain H here but James lick utility said I was H33. My Geno 2 test gave a H33 result also. After transferring my Geno 2 test my mtDNA was changed from H to H33
