Well, if this is not a hoax (not likely!), then the mtDNA haplogroup would be one of those found among Native Americans - A, B, C, D or X. They're claiming that a male primate of some sort and a human female mated to create the Bigfoot lineage about 15,000 years ago. There were only Native Americans in North America then.

Yes MMaddi you are absolutely right, if we are going to look at this in a serious scientific manner! The Bigfoot of North America would have the Native American haplogroups, as they would fit in with the right place, and right time. Also many Native Americans had legends of the Bigfoot.

I decided to poke fun at myself as I am an H (and I guess I figured I would poke fun at the rest of Europe as well). I mean really who wants to be associated with a big hairy smelly (emphasis on the smelly) creature!
