Getting people to test is great, but get them to work on a family tree before they test is even better.

Over at Ancestry I have thousands of matches with no tree, so I've been spending my time going through the matches, and filing them in the trash can section. That way I don't have to keep stumbling over them trying to sort out those few matches that I have a hope of making a connection to.

Getting people to reply to emails would be quite beneficial as well! It's one of my current bugbears that out of about 30 emails, maybe 3 reply. Why test if you have no interest in the result?

DNS testing is beneficial

DNA testing is beneficial when it comes to health benefits, social connections, fear of genetic discrimination etc. I have been highly satisfied by the *Link removed* dna testing services.

Advertising is one thing.Relaity is another! People have to realize the work involved. They need to know how. They need to not share trees and info
If not. they need to know that if you dont have a common surname,that in itself, doesn’t mean you are not related.
I have had just one reach out to me.Doesnt know anything about what to do.Its not my job to teach these people.I am tired of doing that with others.
All the tools are out there. I had a hard time.Even now,still confused about a few things....this forum is a blessing.
I am not recommending testing unless people know what it takes.
