You seem to have taken the mtDNA Full Sequence test. mtDNA is best used for genealogy if you want to prove or disprove that two women are descended from the same ancestor. It is not usually very good for "fishing" for matches. Although it is possible you may get a close match who is related to you, usually the relationship may be too far back to confirm. mtDNA can go back hundreds or thousands of years. FTDNA has a chart in the Learning Center to show how closely you may be related to a mtDNA match (by Confidence Level percentage for the Generations to the Common Ancestor), but many people think it is optimistic.

From another page in the Learning Center, "What is a Relevant Match?" it says for mtFull Sequence (HVR1, HVR2 & Coding Region), that a relevant match would have a genetic difference of "0 through 3, including heteroplasty, but excluding positions 309 and 315." Basically, you need to look at the column which shows Genetic Difference, and consider matches in that 0 to 3 range. Even then, as stated earlier, the relationship may be very old and hard to determine. You may want to join the "C Haplogroup mtDNA Project" at FTDNA. The administrators of that project may be able to give you some advice.

You say you were adopted and have no data on your origin. Did you do other DNA tests, such as Family Finder or Y-DNA? The general advice for adoptees is to do autosomal testing in as many places as you can (Family Finder at FTDNA, also similar tests offered at 23andMe, Ancestry, and MyHeritage). With autosomal testing, you will get a list of matches and an estimate of how they might be related to you. I'm not sure how many people from Argentina or elsewhere in South America have done DNA testing.

There are others in the FTDNA forums who are more knowledgeable about DNA testing for adoptees, so I hope you get some other replies to help you.

There is a series of articles about mtDNA at the blog "DNAeXplained," by Roberta Estes:You may want to read those to help understand your mtDNA results, and how to use the matches.

Gracias por tu respuesta, si me hice la prueba en family Finder y ahora mismo estoy esperando la de MyHermitage, sin resultados concluyentes... sigo con esperanzas de que surga algun dato. Gracais
