  • What does FF mean with Y matches?

Please, can anyone tell me what ’FF’ means with any yDNA matches? It is between the Y-DNA test bit and the name of Most Distant Ancestor. Possibility: does this mean that the match name is to be found also on the Family Finder? Thanks. (I’m adopted, so trying here first.)

That column only indicates the level of testing your match has done, nothing else. It is so you can check those test (if you have done them also) and see if this person is a match on that test also.

FF indicates they have also done the Family Finder test

HVR1, HVR2 or FMS indicate they have also done an mtDNA test

So I have a match on my mtDNA results and it says
        Genetic Distance Name mtDNA Haplogroup
3 William Ralph Wright FMS K1a2a

What does the genetic distance mean? We match 3 generations back? And what does FMS mean? We match on HVR1,HVR2, Coding regions. So why if i just click on HVR1, HVR2 and not coding regions why doesn't this match show up? I'm confused

That's a very long time back.
0-0-0 is a very close match.

Genetic distance on Wikipedia. I have heard that it is the number of mutations.
