Feeling so dumb. I have a new kit but can not figure out how to register it. Obviously, the sign in page is for those that have already registered but what do new users do?

Are you talking about a kit you ordered from Family Tree DNA? If so, you should have received an email with a kit number and password, when you ordered the test. That is all you need to log into your account, even before the kit is received by you. There is no registration process at FTDNA.
If you are referring to a transfer from another company (Ancestry or 23andMe, for example) to FTDNA, I believe the same thing applies; you should have received a login kit number and password.

If you have the kit, it has a Kit Number. If you cannot find the e-mail giving the password - then Click "Sign In", and then click "Forgot Your Password" - you will have to then enter the Kit Number and the e-mail you used, but assuming you can at least guess which one you probably used, that should work.
On the other hand - have seen at least one message in the forum from someone who ordered a Kit from Amazon - did you order from FTDNA, or ???

I have ordered numerous kits from FT and a couple of those I never received a password in an email. The kit when it arrived had the kit number on it. The email was not in my spam either. I just didn't receive one. I had to call for help with a password.

Not all junk mail is forwarded on to computers email program.
Many service providers filter emails before the reach your computer email programs inbox.
Log in to your email providers webmail directly and check spam folder.
