mtDNA full sequence batch 1047 (ordered 01/01/2020). This was batched 01/05/2020. The expected date is 03/30/2020 - 04/13/2020! This is about the third time the date has changed. :/

In your earlier post of 8 Dec., you wrote that your kit was batched on 9 Nov. At that time, it was a little over four weeks since being batched, and now it is over five weeks. Not everyone will be fortunate and have test results in a shorter than usual processing time.

FTDNA has a page in the Learning Center, "After I return the kit, how long will results take?" It shows there that "mtDNA results typically take 6 to 8 weeks." If things are keeping to that schedule, you should get your results fairly soon, perhaps before the end of this week or early next week, but maybe two weeks more beyond.

Most of genealogy requires patience, but genetic genealogy requires a lot of it. There are times when test results may take longer than expected to receive. This can be due to several reasons, usually due to either lab delays, or a sample which is insufficient. Lab delays can be due to dealing with a larger amount of tests, as happens during sales, or sometimes due to personnel or other issues (such as during a pandemic). Sometimes the lab needs to re-run the test due to inconclusive results.

But the person who wrote above got the result from the same batch. It is possible that the sequencing of my sample has failed. I don't want eppendorf with my sample to be put off and lost among other samples in the lab's freezer.
