I ordered 2 Y-DNA tests recently for different relatives. FTDNA received them back within a week of each other. The first made it into batch 1265 on Jan 17 and completed quickly by Feb 4. The second went into batch 1266 on Jan 19, and I'm still waiting for the results as of Feb 18.
I had assumed batch 1266 would complete within a week of 1265, but I guess that's not always the case. And, it seems that not all kits within a batch complete at the same time, since the poster above is still waiting for his results from batch 1265 while I received mine 2 weeks ago. At least they are still in the 3-6 week window. As it says on their page, "Please note that your batch number is not a good indicator of when your test will be complete; this is only an indication of when your test was ordered in our lab."
I contacted support to see if there was an issue with that particular kit or if there's just a delay, and they said testing is still in process and they don't see any issues with the kit samples at the moment. Their explanation was, "DNA samples produce results at different times for all DNA testers. Just because the tests are the same doesn't mean the results will be posted at the same time."
I assume they have a backlog due to the holiday sale, and it's probably going to take closer to the 6 weeks than 3 weeks for recently batched tests.
I'm also waiting for some distant cousins who ordered Big Y upgrades to get processed, and it is hard to be patient, but hopefully the results will be worth it!

You don't seem to be taking into account the possible difference in the quality of the samples. If I ordered two kits for the same test and I submitted both samples from myself, the quality of the samples might not be the same. This could effect the time required for the test to pass QA and for the results to be reported.
That's interesting as the Family Finder results for the above kit in batch 1265 were also posted on Feb 4. But there is no sign of the Y-dna for the same kit/batch.

Jim, you are right, I was not thinking about the samples making that much of a difference on the processing time, which makes sense now that you mention it. Still, it sounds like the Y-DNA tests are taking a lot longer to process right now (based on the post above by cms2 whose Y-111 is already 7 weeks out).
I will say that there are a couple of people in our project that have upgraded from Y-67 to Big Y (I'm not sure about their batch numbers), and their Big Y results are not in yet, but their STR results have been updated to show all 111 markers on the project results now, so stuff does seem to be moving, albeit more slowly than we would all like!
I returned my kit the day I received it on Jan 17th, and still no sign of results. This is the first time I've ordered an analysis from FTDNA, my FF results were from me uploading DNA from Ancestry.com. At least I'm still within the 3-6 weeks timeframe unlike others.
I am still waiting for results b of my Y 700 opgrade, batch 1255 batched 13/12/2021
I don't know how much variance is to be expected between kits, but my upgrade was batch 1254 on Dec 8 and completed Jan 20. I saw another post on a Facebook group from someone in batch 1256 that completed on Jan 31. That seems fast compared to the times several others have mentioned, but I'd expect yours to have at least posted the automated results by now.
Then again, I'm still waiting on a Y-37 that was in batch 1266 on Jan 19, so their estimated timeframes don't ssem to be totally accurate..
