Current Y-DNA batch# ?

We just got results way earlier than expected. That's the good news. Our other big Y test took about 4 months.

The bad news? As with the previous test there are no matches, and the only result was to move a single step down the tree. One very, very expensive step beyond what we already knew.

why don't they just tell everyone that until all there bugs are worked out we aren't taking any more orders because it has effected all test, all I order was a SNP 326 but I understand there is a lot of other test associated with a batch such as #805

I opened a support ticket and the rep kindly got back to me and admitted they hadn’t even looked at my sample (and wouldn’t for a few more weeks).

JesusMoses, out of interest, what did you ask FTDNA that pinned them down to a "few more weeks"? When I asked FTDNA if there a problem with the August sale batches (I'm batch 781) the rep told they could even estimate - even in terms of weeks/months - when they would be looking at my sample.

I asked for a realistic date the results would be posted - and if I needed to do anything else to speed the process up. A few weeks can still mean anything, I will be surprised if my results come in before the end of February.

With the free Y111 upgrade coming through in as little as 2-3 weeks for some people and BigY slightly later, those who ordered the BigY during the latter stages of the August sale have been well and truly shafted.

@karwiso, did you order a lower y-test, or why are your results already in, a week ahead of the "deadline"?
Am a bit worried now. It's my Grandpa's DNA sample and he's in hospital right now. :-/

Did anybody else get their batch 812 y-DNA results already? How many markers did you get tested?

Maybe you should contact FTDNA. It is possible the sample was not good enough and they sent out a new collection kit without you realizing it.

I've seen Y111 (upgrade from Y37/Y67) results for batches 812, 815, and 817. You should email them.

Well, I waited for another two days and finally contacted them this morning. It could also be the case that they don't know which haplogroup to predict for my Grandfather. I just hope they don't need a second sample.

We had that happen with a kit. FT could not predict a haplogroup from the results. But we knew the lab work had been finished because there was a "results" screen - which said something like "undetermined haplogroup." Also, as I remember, the order history said the test was completed.

FTDNA Customer service replied very quickly - I'm really happy that I took your advice to contact them, @The_Contemplator! They told me that samples of the same batch don't necessarily get done in the same "batch". This number just indicates when they entered the lab.
BUT indeed, they had some problems running the test on the first sample, they now used a second one and are confident that they can complete the test now, using the second sample. My grandfather is 87 years old, so there might not have been enough tissue in one of the samples.
Still, they're sending me a second collection kit, just in case. I told them that would be a good idea since I'm already making a plan how to save some money for the Big Y test
Now I'm a very happy customer, even if I have to wait for the results another few days/weeks.

Batch 812: Okay, now I'm confused. They said they were confident to finish the y-37 test with the second sample - and today the results were delayed by two weeks though the note says no action is required. Urgh. I hate waiting.
