I do not know if I believe in FTDNA anymore.
There is just a long line of tests to process before any of the new ones. The good news is that it is getting shorter. The admin of the R1b project claims to have about 75% of the old tests converted from members of that huge project. It has been a month since the upgrade started. So if FTDNA can keep up with its current pace, hopefully in about two weeks they will be nearly done with the old tests. Then they can flood us with a whole boat load of new ones.

Just ignore the deadline. It is simply not a real deadline.
2. We have now been waiting over 3 months. My family has tests in 771, 774, and 777, not all of them Y. We had planned to buy at least one more during the upcoming sale but --- FTDNA can't even bother to send an automated note of explanation? (I just received a friendly and assuring note from another commercial DNA company, plus the overnight shipment of a duplicate test kit - the contrast is shocking.)Last edited by abuelita; 12 November 2017, 09:00 AM.

Agreed, FTDNA should send out a clear mass email as people won't figure it out on their own what is wrong. I don't know why FTDNA handles communication on delays poorly.
I'm just explaining that the deadline displayed is meaningless so other people don't keep getting their hopes up that it is a real deadline. I've seen results arrive way ahead of the deadlines. I've seen some results arrive a few days after a new deadline was posted. I've seen how a new sample was needed in some cases. While the person had not sent back the new kit with the fresh sample, a new deadline was continually being shown as if the test was in progress when it clearly was not.
In one of the small surname project groups I follow, all the old results are already in and only the new ones are left (batches 771, 777).

In any case, bump or not, it makes me cautiously optimistic that these results are not far away (pending completion of the hg.38 recalculation)

I think something went wrong with mapping directly in hg38… missing regions, new SNPs that could not be detected before, old SNPs undetectable now… it’s a total mess. Probably they have to apply a two-step process with the new samples to be able to integrate them with the old ones. That’s why they cannot give any reaction… they don’t know yet how to integrate the new data.
