  • "Glitch" in posting results

I ordered a FF test back in early December. My date range to expect results has been changed FOUR times now.

After the 3rd change, I sent in a support ticket & was told:
"There is a glitch that has prevented your results from posting. Our IT Department is working to get your results posted as soon as possible."

Since receiving that message, the pending range was changed AGAIN...and no results.

At some point, I have to wonder if I'm ever going to see the results I've paid for.

same here to be honest... Awaiting transfer results from my Geno 2.0 test, though not longer than you've been. Did you ever receive an ETA?

FTDNA can't post my results even though its complete???

I imported my results from 23andme over a year ago. A few months ago I decided to do a further SNP test kit with FTDNA to go further into my background.

The administrators on the U106 SNP group advised me which test to do, I paid my 100 bucks, sent the sample in and waited...

They received the sample tested it and completed it, two months BEFORE the estimated date.

Now I get told they cannot post the result to my profile because I imported my original results from 23and me???

Nor can they send me the results and there is no way for me to access them??

Huh? I paid 100 dollars for nothing? Those results are MY DNA and they won't let me access it?

That's it, no offers to help or suggestions. Just sorry, you can't access your data!!!!

      Helloo....

        Hallo Ivanhoe,

I guess, there was a misunderstanding between you and FTDNA. You just have to log in with your new kit number, not with the old one from the transferred test, because these are to different kits.

You wrote, you bought a new kit and sent a sample back. For this ou should have got a reveicing mail from ftdna with your new kit number. Or lately the mail, in which FTDNA confirmed the completion date of your test (with kit number). Log in with this new kit number and then you might see your results. If you do not remember your Password, ask them to reset it.

          Hello,

It looks like the SNP pack was ordered on your transfer test with no other Y-DNA testing. With no STR results the Y-DNA haplotree page doesn't generate correctly. I see Byron at the helpdesk is working with you currently so I will let him assist you. Outside of an IT fix the one thing I can think of is to order any Y-STR marker test (such as the Y-DNA 12 at the bottom most level). This will then allow all of the results of the SNP pack to post. I am very sorry for this inconvenience.

FamilyTree have kindly come up with a solution and hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be able to see my results.

            Thanks guys.

Might be an idea to make a not of it for anyone importing their results?

              STILL waiting

I have now had FIVE delays in the results posting.

This "glitch" needs to be resolved. I paid for results I still don't have, and my newest expected date range is from 3/09-3/23 - which at the outside would take it to nearly FOUR MONTHS of waiting.

Maybe FTDNA needs to bring in outside consultants or someone who know what they're doing - there's no excuse for a "glitch" taking MONTHS to resolve.

I'm getting pretty angry by this point. I paid for a product/service that has not been provided. That is simply unacceptable.

                Glitch

Since this is a glitch on FTDNA's side, I suggest they simply do the 12-marker test for free -- system problem solved, at least from the customer side.

This is not the case. I originally transferred results from 23andme, then later ordered a Y SNP test as an upgrade and submitted a sample.

I use the same kit number and password as my original transfer kit.

Batch 661 not posting Family Finder match results

The "I-T" Department apparently and allegedly is working on this "issue".

Why does the kit's Order History states:

                    Completed: 03/01/2016
                    Completed: Pending

I can see the MyOrigins Ethnicity Predictions

But not the matches and I have NO Raw Data files to download.

                    Why not?

MyOrigins usually populates 1-2 days before matches show up.

                        got results, but...

                        My results finally posted, but...

There seems to be a problem. I'm seriously suspecting that the results are NOT from my kit.

                        Reasons:
1- I have a match in the Advanced Match section that has a Parent/Child relationship. I have no children, and I'm about as certain as it's possible to be without a DNA test that my dad was my biological father.

2- Of all my matches - 72 pages of them - many showing 2-4th cousin relationships through more distant, there are virtually no common surnames. I have a fairly extensive knowledge of my genealogy, so this seems odd.

3 - Many of the matches are with people from Finland, including those fairly close, and we have zero genealogical evidence of Finnish descent.

Any one of these things might just be something unexpected, but taken together...the only other explanation would be that my dad was not my biological father. While obviously I can't know that for certain, it seems unlikely to me.

On top of all of this is the absurdly long delay in my results posting, which, honestly, makes me more willing to believe the unlikely - that the results posted are NOT mine.

Please run the "In Common With" tool between yourself and the close match. If both your match lists are identical (or very close) then you could be correct that you have somebody else's data. This has been going on for over 3 years now where sometimes FTDNA posts results in the wrong account, so the same results are posted in two separate accounts one the correct one and two the mirror incorrect one. Since FTDNA can't distinguish between fully identical and half identical segments the two identical accounts get labeled as parent/child matches to each other.

I know Darren told me a year ago that he would bring this to managements attention so a quality check could be put in place to flag such an occurrence. Obviously management didn't follow through or this is a different situation.

I'm not sure I can do that - the only place this match shows up is in the Advanced Matches, and while I can see the Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups, the match has no viewable profile, no tree, no link to email, etc., and doesn't show up at all in the Chromosome Browser for the comparison.

It is probably a transfer who hasn't unlocked their data. You very well could have their results, hard to say for sure since you can't compare. You will have to contact customer service.
