  • Delay FF batch 627. WHY?

I'm SO confused and concerned. I know there was at least one batch 627 FF that came back last week, and one batch 628 FF that came back yesterday (neither mine).

I got this message this morning: Results for your Family Finder test have been delayed. We have updated your predicted completion date, and action by you is not usually required. Note that predicted dates are an estimate and subject to lab volume and quality control.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what it means? Did my 90 year old great-uncle's sample fail and they're just not telling me? FWIW, the original window was 7/8-7/22, and now it's 7/29-8/12.

    Same with my kit.

You do not need to do anything, just wait on results. With my last FF order, which was batched in April, I also got a new completion date. And in the end I got my results within the first completion time frame.

So there is a chance, that this will happen again.
    Hope dies last. ;-)

Yes, I have heard of that happening. I'm still hopeful, but instead of checking hourly, I think I'll just check once daily.

        Hope was right :-)

I got my results today within the first predicted timeframe 5 days before deadline.

I find that most of my family finders get the "delayed" notice but still come in on time. I currently have my 8th FF running. Only 1 came back a LITTLE late, and only 1 kit had "problems", sample was good but it was the 6/3 batch that they had some issues with getting them to work correctly with the FTDNA system. They fixed that though.
