I agree, to me this seems to be a strange business policy considering FTDNAs backlog. I am sure the best advertisement for FTDNA would be to shorten the delivery times instead of announcing further sales actions.
I gladly would pay double the price if that would halve the waiting time.

Guys, batch numbers are totally irrelevant to when your test actually starts running or when you receive your results.

FTDNA has described them as an "accounting function".

Your test may be "batched" on a certain date, but may not actually be started until several weeks later (or more).

This info came directly from the lab director as relayed to me by the president of the company. You can take it to the bank.

Hope you got your results. I can only state that I was batch 622 and got my Y-DNA67 on July 17.

p.s. Darren - can you possibly check if it is just me? i just read that someon in batch 221, right before me, got thier 37 marker upgrade at the end of July. so that means batch 222 really ought to be ready now,not the aug 26-sept 9 that i just saw as new dates.

am back then to original quesiton- isthis just me, or all batch 622?

Sounds like you both did better than me then. I just checked and its been delayed again- new dates aug 26 to sept 9. I ordered i believe begnning of may but no longer remember - have to check my old posts. Sounds like m ine then are 16 weeks at least.

the deception bothers me. if they are posponing everyone, why not be honest instead of this whole 2 weeks from now routing, only to move it again when you are a day away from the new deadline.

i've stopped ordering all tests for now. I found it amazing i got email to order snp packs for R1b for example - no info was provided on when the results would be in. they jsut keep selling selling. are they letting the new tests take priority over upgrades? is that what's happening? and the more new ones they sell, the more these old ones get bumped? they had instructions for what to do if you had questions on their new product offering. i did not email, but if i did, i was going to see what they would say about a due date.

and since i'm still griping, i don't think they should charge credit card utnil results are ready- they can place a hold, but not charge it. holds expire in 90 days. which is perfect. if a test is not in in 90 days when they have said it will be in 21 days, then the customer should certainly then have the right to allow another hold to be placed on the card or to cancel the order.

new expected dates are exactly one week after the ones you posted.

It is one batch a week, 52 weeks a year.

batch 608 on FEBRUARY 4
on it's 5th delay now
current "expected" dates: 7/01 - 7/15

coming up on 5 months now.

I purchased a 67 Y markers upgrade on May 1st, twas batched to 621 on the 6th of May, and I'm still waiting, twas supposed to be due June 17th-July 1st but was delayed to July the 22nd-August 5th.

I am not recommending this company and I was excited about this whole thing and had gotten at least 4 ppl interested in dna stuff.
