  • Anyone else Batch 624 FF?

Just wondering if there's any other batch 624 FF's out there? This is my first test to go through the actual process (I manage 1 23andme transfer).

I saw in another thread that a batch 622 FF got results 3 weeks and 5 days after batching. For us, that would be June 22.

The problem seems to be that some may get their results within the time frame while others in the same batch may have to wait for many, many months or even years.

From what I've seen, most of the problem lies in the fact that batches include all types of tests (FF, mtDNA, Y, etc). The vast majority of FF tests come back more quickly than the other types. The other thing I've noticed people whose FF tests get delayed don't mention is whether or not they had to give a new sample. If you have to give a new sample, that's also going to delay things.

I've tested with 23andme multiple times (I manage 12 accounts), and 23andme has the same problem with some tests failing, people having to re-test, etc. But the majority of tests come in about the same time.

If you have to have another round of FF tests with a new sample, you would need to pay again. People would surely mention that. You can safely assume that the majority of those who write about their delays here did not have to submit another sample for the Family Finder test.

Seriously? If a test fails, and the same person has to re-submit a new sample, they have to pay again? 23andme sends out a complimentary second test!

That is not what I had written

I said "another round of FF tests" , as FTDNA tests for Family Finder twice with a given DNA sample.

That is described on their Payments and Refunds page https://www.familytreedna.com/learn/...efunds-policy/

            W. (Mr.)

            P.S.
The FTDNA Payments and Refunds page implies that with technology used by Family Finder a double failure means the sample quality is below standard.

That is how your post reads.

              Anyway.

Unless you have an update on a batch 624 FF test, kindly refrain from continuing to take this thread further off-topic.

Batch 624 FF tests should be seeing results now! Mine are in... sort of.
