  • Batch 603 results

I have one of my kits in Batch 603 waiting for results from a Y-37 test. The kit has been delayed several times already.

Has anyone else in Batch 603 received results?

I keep hearing that the lab is working extra to reduce the backlog, but what does this mean? Are they working nights and weekends around the clock? Two weeks ago some of the FTDNA folks were at the Rootstech conference which made me wonder if all hands on deck to solve the backlog was just a mirage.

I have not seen any y-dna results from batch 603 reported as yet. I saw one 602 about three weeks ago, but since then only older batches. A lot of 59x tests reported so far this week. Plus a couple of 600 and 601.

I have a cousin's Y111 upgrade in 603. I don't really expect to see results for a couple weeks or more and will be really pleased if they come in before that.

He's upgrading from a Y 37 and the very first week I ordered the upgrade three of the four panels from y68 to Y110 posted. I thought that was a little strange. Nothing posted from y38 to y67.

        lack of response

Back around the middle of January when the original due date for my kit was 1/26, I couldn't wait for the results to come in. I was checking the kit status every day. At that time it would have been unthinkable that over a month later still there would be no results. It is 3/3 and no news from FTDNA. It is looking like FTDNA simply does not care about its customers or that their mess is so big that they cannot cope with it very well.

I have several kits already with this company so I am stuck for now, but it is frustrating the poor customer service we get. Why can't they be more clear, informative, and proactive? With a little technology (automatic email with status) half the misinformation or lack of could have been avoided.

          Disappointed

Yes, this is a poor example of customer service. I'm waiting on the Y-37 and no response to an inquiry last week. While waiting in the initial processing window, I recommended to a cousin that he get testing too. He hasn't tested yet, and I will recommend he look elsewhere.

My 23andme test was smaller but the company hit the window it set.

I just have a feeling someone will start up a class action lawsuit.

I got the Y67 and mtDna test in Batch 603. Nothing so far. Message says it has been delayed.

The explanation that I've heard is that ftdna will do additional testing to pin down a haplotype. They won't release these panels, however, until you order an upgrade. Then they appear almost instantly. Out of curiosity, was the original y-37 order delayed?

Yes, his Y37 test was in Batch 590 and it took three months. His Y111 test was batched 12/30 (Batch 603).

Last week the expected results changed to 3/11 but this morning when I checked the expected date has changed back to 2/11 - 2/26. That doesn't make any sense..must be a computer thing...

That fits with ftdna discovering that they needed to run additional panels back then ...

Things are starting to move faster

Called customer service today. The wait was minimal, about 3 minutes. The customer rep was very polite and helpful. Confirmed that my kit is processing (no issues). It could be another week or less. Batch 603 (Y-37).

                    The number is (713) 868-1438 option 3.

                        Finally heard something

I contacted customer service about one week ago via the contact form, and today I received a response. The content was pretty much as I expected. It appears that my wait is supposed to be about two weeks more. Initially, my Y-12 results were to be in early February, and the full Y-37 results were to be in mid-late February. The due dates have been pushed back twice, and it looks like they will have to be pushed back once more.

                          update

As of this morning 3/7, no results have come in. Still waiting and hoping it will be in next couple of days. Read elsewhere that 602 batch results were in a few days ago.

It has been a long wait.

I've had a total of ten FF kits and several of those also have had Y tests and some Y upgrades also. I've never had any results come in on a Saturday or Sunday. There have been a few times where some new Family Finder matches posted on a Monday but never any kind of Y test results. I'm in 603 also...a Y111 upgrade from a Y37. I'm not really looking for results before Thursday....but I really hope it's this week.

I am in batch 605 and my date has changed 3 times and is now 4/1 to 4/15. I am not complaining, just wondering if my dna had to be retested, but it appears that isn't the case if 603 hasn't gotten theirs yet either.
