I wrote a long reply, but ftdna has apparently deep sixed it ...

The essence of my post was that poster dna made two very relevant posts. First, he warned that results could be out of sequence because of fast processing vs slow processing. The idea is that ftdna is using every piece of equipment possible to get on top of the backlog. Second, dna told a 606 that his results would appear soon, a few hours before 606 results started getting reported. dna seems to have great insight into what is happening behind the scenes at ftdna.

So my present scenario is that some of 603, 604, and much of 605 got the snail trail. Fortunate 606 started processing later, but has results sooner. Speculation to be sure, but based off of the posts by dna.

Re-runs for earlier batches, that started reprocessing at the same time as 603, 604, 605 would seem to be in the same boat.

I just happened to see 606 results coming up no insight whatsoever...

          P.S.
It is not about using every piece of equipment possible! Technology keeps changing and no DNA testing company would be able to keep buying the identical model year, after year.

Did you get an email when your results came in? Or you just noticed them there?

Really happy for those who have received results. Mine aren't in yet, just had a look and still waiting. Y-37 as well.

No e-mail announcing the results -- I just happened to notice them. Best of luck to those still waiting.

Have all the batch 603 Y-DNA results loaded?

                            Mine haven't yet.

I have been waiting 13 weeks for the results. This week I have been told that my kit could have failed (not confirmed yet). If that is the case it will take another 3-5 weeks.

Is anyone else in batch 603 in a similar situation?
Wondering if this is a batch issue or just isolated kits failing? It seems unimaginable to me that it can take so long to get the results.

I'm sure it has been suggested before...

I'm also still waiting in batch 603 and really wish FTDNA would establish reality-based expectations up front as this would eliminate disappointment and frustration for most customers. They should:
                                • Advise customers before they place an order that the average wait time is approximately 90 days.
                                • Notify individual customers when the testing period is extended due to a failure.

If everyone knew before they ordered that it took 90 days, there would be no reason to complain until after that much time had elapsed--and they'd have a ton of happy customers who got their results ahead of schedule.

A cousin and I purchased Y37 tests at the same time and submitted them around Christmas. Hers made it into batch 602, and she got her results weeks ago. I am relieved that people in batch 603 are finally beginning to get results. Soon I will no longer feel miserable waiting for test results and instead can feel miserable waiting for future matches to show up in the database. Sigh...
