    Is FTDNA down?
    I cant get onto the homepage from my usual link or via a search engine or typing in the address.
    https://www.familytreedna.com

    All I get is that blasted circle going around and around and then this;
    504 Gateway Time-out
    The server didn't respond in time.

    Only reason I can post here is via a different link;
    http://forums.familytreedna.com

    I know they have changes the web URLs for projects that converted to Groups, but that should not affect the frontpage.
    I cant get onto any of the project webpages either, even with the new URLs.

      Have you tried the usual routine?
      • Leave just one blank window opened.
      • Remove all the cookies.
      • Clear the cache.
      • Stop the browser.
      • Start your browser again.
      This is so annoying that I had switched to using Firefox ESR in the Private Mode all the time. Then I just need to close, and restart the browser.

      P.S. I had a situation like yours yesterday, in the afternoon I think.

          That is a different beast and if it is not a transient error, given the URL everybody would have it.

          P.S.
          Clearing the browser might still help, since cached information/cookies could be sending your browser on a path that was just made invalid.

            Am - OK, PM - Times Out

            This morning I was able to log on and navigate just fine. This afternoon, I get the 504 Gateway Time-Out error after a lot of spinning. This has been going on for more than an hour... even after I did the cache clearing routine. ;-)

              If they had control of their development activities it should not be necessary to clear cached information every time they mess about with the website. They should also give advance warning of changes.
              I tried later in the day and got in without problems but then had a completely blank FF match page. Now ok. Extremely irritating that their change control is not more professional.

                Thanks DNA,

                I managed to get in this morning (my time) and was ok, but when I tried to get back in later the same issues. Will try the clear cookies, cache, restart browser etc.

                Shouldn't have to do this all the time for just one website.

                  I had similar intermittent 504 problems most of last week.

                  Clearing my browser history did seem to help, but that is not a reasonable answer for problems like this.
